James Douglas Woodall III (aka JD3 or even JDπ)

When Julie went to her regular doctor's appointment this week she was told that she wasn't likely to make it to her due date of October 29th or even last out the week. This got my hopes up for a delivery on Tuesday or Wednesday, but at the end of each day, despite a few contractions here and there, Julie wasn't going into labor.

So by Friday my impatience got me thinking of ways to induce labor. Our friends said that when they were close they just walked for hours to get going. So for the first time ever, I was willing to indulge Julie and walk around Babies R Us to look at everything we don't need. Then we took a break and around 10:30 went on a little two mile stroll around our neighborhood. Julie felt a few contractions, but nothing successive enough to warrant labor. So I went to bed around midnight and fifteen minutes later, Julie's water broke.

We got the to the hospital just fine. Julie was fully dilated at 8:00 a.m. and just sixteen minutes later James was born! He weighed 7lbs 14oz and was 20 & 3/4" long. He has been eating well, he's been the perfect baby, and we're one small happy family.

Look at all that hair!

Who do you think he resembles most?

What I enjoyed about Julie's baby showers

No, I didn't attend... but there were some very nice gifts:

And I couldn't help but laugh at some of the onesies that were made at the shower and a gift I didn't even know existed:

(in case you can't read the middle item, it says, "Pee-pee Teepee for the sprinkling wee-wee." heehee)

Retired

My last day of work at Ad Results Advertising was on Friday October 9th.

(My friends were sad to see me go)

I was sad to leave but I was also glad I wouldn't have to deal with all the upcoming drama (associated with cutbacks). I was worried that I would have too much extra time and count down the minutes till my due date. To my surprise, I realized how much I still have to do and I'm even busier than I ever was at work! So far, I love being busy doing good, productive things and love being a stay-at-home (soon to be) mom! I know at least half of you are thinking "oh, just wait till the baby comes." I know it will get harder and much busier, but I'm enjoying this time while it lasts.
